Moxii...152 N. College, DURING (PART D, preparing to start the brick floor at window display)

Started out with trailer loads of brick that was from a demolition job/trash from a jobsite.
We brought them in to the store, and stacked and counted to be sure we had enough.
Next, it was time to clean the old mortar off the bricks. The bricks are whole bricks, so no holes and not pavers, so they make for a heavy load. Jackson did a great jod of scraping the mortar off with the scrapper and hammer. NOT a fun job!! I lasted about 15 bricks and then went on to the next task. Needless to say, my standards of a "clean" brick became less and less. Thanks Jackson for hanging in there!!
I mapped out how I wanted the curveture of the window display area to be. It was an evolving curve. Yes, it would have been much easier to lay the bricks with a straight line. However, there are SO many straight lines in this space, so I really waned there to be some curve and ease into the window display area.

Moxii...152 N. College, DURING (PART C, the floors, removing the glue)

In order to give the adhesive something to adhere to we brought in buckets of dirt. Nothing had to special about the dirt, except messy.
We swirled the dirt around and around with the grinder. The dirt ended up ahering to the adhesive that was picked up off the concrete but also adhereing to the glue still on the concrete, which made a stain all of its own on the concrete. This was a nice look in my opinion, and its what I call "green" concrete staining.

baby ducks

Jackson got a few baby geese, some chicks and rescued one that someone else got for Easter (the green one).  I was working at the store but Gigi took these pics of Jackson helping T hold the ducks.
Looks like they had fun in the beginning...
Thompson is warming up to them quite nice...and what a sweet smile.

Now he is holding one on his own. Looking quite stiff there T-Man.
Possibly a little afraid the chick might fly away.

Looks like Jackson left Thompson there and he doesn't know what to do with this baby chicken!!
AND its looking like its nap time.
