how to Transition into Fall in Ten Days...DAY 1

deep clean...

I know, this is the worst thing for day 1, but it has to be done!!  Pick some tunes, set the timer, and go at it!!

This is my cleaning bin...its cute and practical.  Somehow that makes it a little fun to pull out of the cabinet.

Here are our top five tips for the deep clean...
  1. Start with dusting the ceiling fans, and while your up there, switch the rotation on your blades for winter.
  2. Allow your cleaner time to soak before scrubbing off, especially in the bathtub and potty
  3. Buy a duster you can machine wash...worth the extra few $
  4. Allow the kids to "help", but safely help.  Give them a   spray bottle of just water and have them spray the shower while you clean the other parts.
  5. Open the windows while cleaning.  This allows extra ventilation and give your house a fresh feeling...besides, its gorgeous outside these days!!

How to Transition to Fall in Ten Days

How to Transition to Fall in Ten Days...

Yes, Fall is in the air... FINALLY!!  We are all enjoying our mornings and evenings outside, seeing the leaves begin to change, feeling the cooler air setting in.  But as we step inside, our moods change, we are not sure what season it is, because our homes still look like summer time.

ITS TIME TO TRANSITION TO FALL!!

Join the Bailey family as we transition our home, family and attitude towards one of harvest, colorful leaves, and Thanksgiving - being thankful for all of our blessings.

I will be blogging the next 10 days on "How to Transition to Fall in Ten Days."  Each day will focus on one area of the home/family and how to transition that area into Fall.  I am excited about this undertaking for our family and even more excited about sharing this venture with all of you.

Enjoy!!

Coach Pat Dye at moxii...

moxii hosted a book signing by Coach Pat Dye the day of the Auburn vs. Clemson game. It was a really fun event for moxii and the staff. The buys came for a few minutes so we could do a quick snap with them and Coach Dye. Here are a few pics...

Shepherd was not so sure he wanted anyone but Momma to hold him...so we decided to give in.

Thanks Coach Dye and we look forward to having you visit again soon!

kat's "treasure" BEFORE

A few weeks ago while "treasure hunting" for moxii I ran across this dresser.  I didn't see it at first, but noticed it all covered up with junk while I was leaving the store.  Keep in mind, I had both boys this afternoon, and was trying to make the best use of time (HURRY).  But I just had to stop and see the price...and thats what got me.  $23.50 was on the tag.  I thought...that has to be wrong!  So I ask the sales assistant, and that was correct.  Oh wow...my wheels started turning...what could I do with this...and the storage...the carving...the size and scale...this is GREAT!  So I bought it, kindly asked Clark to go pick it up for me, and started clearing the path at home for it.  So after much pain and heavy lifting , the 72" long, all wood piece finally made it to the living room.  I have moved it around several times, but think it has found its home.

Now the decision is what to do with it!  I am still brainstorming, but below are a few ideas.

Please let me know if you have run across any others painted dressers that you think might fit in the Bailey home.  I am hoping to find the perfect inspiration before painting!!

behind the scenes

Nina had a great idea to have the Ayers Photography do another photo shoot of the boys.  I called and luckily they were able to shoot the Bailey fam Saturday at 8am!!  Yes, we got up, dressed and out the door for a family photo shoot at 8am.

Yuri and Angela thought Moss Rock Park would be a good place for he boys.  It was perfect...and HOT!  I had this bright idea for us to wear fall colors, jeans, button downs, sweaters and layers.  Shows you just how often I am NOT outside at 8am.  Here are a few pics from the shoot.

I might have to ad that my hubby looks quite cute and I enjoyed him being at the photo shoot...its not often he gets to join us on location, be it work or family.  Clark, just so you know the moxii photos shoots require more energy than shooting 2 little boys...I promise!  Hope you had fun.

Clark...GREAT IDEA

Clark...GREAT IDEA

In the morning when Shep wakes up he loves to pull hair, blow bubbles in your face and babble. Clark discovered a new entertainment for him when the rest of us are not so ready for the day to begin.  Shep's bed is near a window and the view out is of the sidewalks, the flowers and the sunny mornings.  This combination makes for a perfect reason to pull the curtains back and  let him soak it all in (that is while Thompson and I soak in a few more seconds of shut eye!)

WAR EAGLE!

I had a fun evening with my boys. After moxii retail closed, Thompson and Shepherd met me at the store. We walked to Samford lawn, played in the grass, had a snack and listened to the football crown in the background. A guy walking by to take our pic with my phone....that explains the fuzzy part of the photo. After waling back to the car, we went to Target and had dinner...lattes and scrambled eggs...random, but what T wanted.

I felt as though I was cheating by not being in the stadium during the game, but it was a lot of fin hanging out with the babies!! It has been about 9 years since I was in Auburn during a football game and not gone to the game with Clark...I sill can not believe that he missed the first game to go to Colorado...WHAT? I don't blame him one bit after seeing the text photos he sent. WAR EAGLE!!
